FTBC crowned PBSCBL Fall Champions
February 8th, 2019

For the second time in Florida Tech Baseball Club history, the team has claimed a PBSCBL league championship.

Following a decent regular season and a close 2-1 loss to the long-time rival Space Coast Sharks in the first round of the playoffs, the FTBC could not lose another game. The team responded by going on an absolute tear through the playoffs, winning five games in a row, including beating the Sharks twice in the championship round, to claim the title.

Riding fantastic pitching performances throughout the playoffs from grad student Jared Walker (18 IP, 1.00 ERA, .136 OBA)  and freshman Dylan Kridner (11.1 IP, 1.59 ERA, .150 OBA), the offense outscored opponents 37-14 to take home the crown.

In a season that saw multiple players putting up big numbers, Kridner led the way on both sides of the ball on the way to being selected as the Fall 2018 FTBC MVP. Dylan carried a .542/.585/.646 triple-slash line, swiped 10 bases, posted a 0.96 ERA, and a .162 OBA over 28 IP.

The FTBC looks forward to continuing their momentum in the upcoming NCBA season, as they look for the team's first ever NCBA playoff bid.
