A well deserved congratulations goes out to LHP Dave Chesny, who last week successfully defended his PhD dissertation titled "Non-pontential magnetic fields and magnetic reconnection in low collisional plasmas: discovery of solar EUV mini-sigmoids and development of novel in-space propulsion systems." Dave is the first member or alumni of the club to receive a PhD.

Dave has been an integral part of the FTBC pitching rotation since he joined the team in 2009. He is the club's all-time leader in wins, earned run average, WHIP, and opponent batting average. Dave was also the winning pitcher for the FTBC's first NCBA victory, as well as two homecoming games. He is currently serving as the team's pitching coach, and has been active with the team for a combined eight seasons.
