The Florida Tech Baseball Club picked up a 14-4 win over the Americans Baseball Club today, combining for seven walks and 14 hits (seven extra-base hits)., and moving to 2-0 on the young season.

Robby Rew broke the game open, hitting a missile over the left-center fence for a go-ahead grand slam in the third inning. Even before the home run, Rew was having a good day at the plate, and finished the day 3-3 with a double, home run, three runs scored, a stolen base, and five RBI.

Andrew Maris also smashed a ball to left for a three-run homer in the fourth, putting the game well out of reach of the Americans. Maris also picked up another hit and a walk on the day.

With big numbers across the board, seemingly everyone had a good day at the plate, but Matt Ryan (2-3, 2 2B, 2 R, 1 BB, 2 RBI) and Jared Walker (2-2, 2 2B, 3 R, 2 BB, 1 RBI) deserve special mention as well.

On the mound, Andrew Shillingsford tossed a mercy-rule shortened complete game. He settled in nicely after a bumpy first inning, inducing a seemingly endless stream of grounders en route to his first win with the FTBC.

Next up, the FTBC takes on Prime 9 - Black on Tuesday, 7:15pm at Palm Bay Regional Park.
