After taking a year off from the National Club Baseball Association, the Florida Tech Baseball Club has returned, now playing in the NCBA's Division II.

In their first series back, the FTBC beat Coastal Georgia by scores of 12-0 and 16-9, before dropping the finale by a score of 6-3. However, on appeal to the league, the FTBC successfully protested the outcome of the final game due to roster violations by Coastal Georgia, and this game was forfeited to the FTBC instead.

Several players had big weekends at the plate. The offense was led by Robby Rew (3-8, 2 2B, 1 HR, 6 BB, 8 RBI, 4 R), who received District IV South Player of the Week honors for his efforts. Blake Pryor (5-11, 2 2B, 1 BB, 7 RBI, 2 R) was close behind Robby in the run production department. Jared Walker (4-12, 2 2B, 3 BB, 4 RBI, 5 R) provided strong production out of the leadoff spot, and Matt Ryan joined the party by blasting his first career home run.

Jared also threw a complete game shutout in the first game of the series, scattering three hits across five innings, needing only 50 pitches to dispatch Coastal Georgia. Nate Bonanno deserves recognition for his work as well, appearing in seven innings across two games and allowing only one earned run.

Next up, the FTBC takes on FGCU this weekend at Palm Bay Regional Park, with play starting at 11am on both Saturday and Sunday.
