FTBC Opens Season with 9-3 Win

The Florida Tech Baseball Club opened up the 15th season in team history with a 9-3 win over Prime 9 - Red. The win brings the club's all-time record in Space Coast Baseball League season openers to 6-3.

Jared Walker worked a solid five innings to earn his first win with the FTBC, and Andrew Shillingsford made quick work of the last two innings to close out the game.

An overall team effort, the FTBC littered the basepaths, earning their way on base 17 times (10 walks, 7 hits).

Freshman Robby Rew came up with the biggest hit of the day, ripping a three-run double to left field, and rounded out a solid day at the plate with another hit, a stolen base, and three runs scored. Also of particular note at the plate were Sean Green (1-3, 1 2B, 2 RBI) and Reed Kennaday (2-3, 2 R, 1 RBI).
