Last weekend, FTBC standout Jose Dominguez took part in the 2014 NCBA DeMarini Longball Challenge. The competition is held annually as a part of the NCBA World Series. The field of competitors was comprised of eight hitters from World Series teams, and eight hitters from the rest of the league as a whole. Jose, who hit four HRs this season, was invited as one of the eight non-World Series competitors. This is the second trip to the Longball Challenge for Jose, as he was previously selected to take part in 2012.

Jose hit two home runs, one of them with one out remaining (which counted double), and advanced to the second round before being eliminated. He finished in 5th place overall with a total of three.

The eventual winner of the event was Chris Muellner of Texas, who put up a total of eight. UCF's Stephen Beninato was the runner up, failing to homer in the final round and finishing with a total of six.
