Sophomore Eli Ginsburg winds up against Ohio.

The Florida Tech Baseball Club is proud to announce that sophomore Eli Ginsburg has made the Florida Tech Varsity Baseball squad as a pitcher. Always a team player with the FTBC, he put in time as a catcher, pitcher, infielder, occasionally headed out to the outfield, and often would pitch immediately after catching a complete game.

In his two seasons with the team, Eli showed great promise on the mound, and at times was practically unhittable. In his best game with the FTBC, Eli took the mound against Ohio last spring and was lights-out, allowing only two hits while striking out seven, all while throwing the first full-length complete-game shutout in the history of the club. After focusing on pitching over the summer, Eli came back this fall and posted dazzling numbers: a 2.08 ERA, .111 opponent average, 0.77 WHIP, and 9.69 K/9.

While a few players have played for the club after leaving the varsity squad, Ginsburg is the first to make the jump from the FTBC to varsity. The Florida Tech Baseball Club wishes Eli the best of luck in his opportunity to hone his skills at a higher level.
